Marvin St. Macary first fell in love with performing arts industry as a seven-year-old watching every VHS cassette he could borrow from the local public library to escape the rough streets of Jamaica, Queens in the city of New York. Films allowed his imagination to run wild and to broaden his horizons past his community.

Marvin received a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and African American Studies from Fordham University at Lincoln Center. While at Fordham, Marvin studied acting, directing, and screenwriting while performing in various productions such as “Othello,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Fences,” and “Colored Boys.” As a sophomore in college, he landed an internship working in the executive offices of Sean “P Diddy” Combs at BadBoy Entertainment and Arista Records. It was at BadBoy, that Marvin would expand his talents working with the fashion industry with Sean John Clothing and in event planning, with Uptown and Motown president, Andre Harrel.

After two years at Badboy, Marvin became the Executive Assistant at Naa’ila Entertainment for acclaimed award-winning music video, commercial, and film director, Hype Williams. Marvin quickly rose to the position of assistant director and became the producer of music videos for Jay Z “Hey Papi,” LL Cool J feat. Jennifer Lopez, “Control Myself,” Kanye West feat.  Jamie Foxx, “Golddigger,” Beyonce, “Check Up on It,” Neyo, “So Sick, Robin Thicke feat. Pharell, “Wanna Love You Girl,” The Game feat. 50 Cent, “How We Do,” and many more. He also served on the production team to manufacture commercials for Herbal Essence, Reebok, Verizon, BET, and Vibe Magazine.

Even with his success in the music industry, Marvin’s passion for film and theater never left him. He continued his training in acting at HB Studios in New York City, KC Theater in Beverly Hills, and movement training at Alvin Ailey in New York City. He starred in short films such as “The Expository File,” for Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and “Magica” directed by Hype Williams for Ridley Scott’s production company, RSA Films.

In 2006, after eight years of working in the entertainment industry in both New York and Los Angeles, Marvin moved to Lynchburg, Virginia to join the Ramp Church International. In April 2014, he was installed as the Executive Pastor. While in Lynchburg, Marvin wrote, directed, and starred in the lead of the play “The Witness” based on the real-life character, William Seymour and the Azusa Street revival that took place in Downtown Los Angeles in 1906. He also wrote the short film, “Apartment 2 C” and he recently acted in the PureFlix and Liberty University’s Cinematic Art’s production of “Peace Baby.”

Marvin recently completed his Master of Business Administration in Marketing at Liberty University. He currently oversees the commercial and the residential properties of the RCI Business Center and is helping launch the Ramp’s vision of building the cities’ largest recreational center to provide a 24-hour facility for the youth in the community.
